The grid for the 2025 F1 season has been announced, revealing which drivers will be driving for which teams. Additionally, potential candidates for Mercedes have also been identified.

Carlos Sainz move to Williams fills one of remaining vacant drives

The lineup of drivers for the 2025 Formula One season is starting to come together.

The unexpected decision by Lewis Hamilton to join Ferrari for the upcoming F1 season has caused a stir in the sport and has led to a flurry of changes after a period of little movement in the driver market.

Despite speculation that Max Verstappen would take Hamilton's place at Mercedes, he is expected to remain with Red Bull. Mercedes is reportedly interested in Italian youngster Andrea Kimi Antonelli and their current reserve driver Mick Schumacher.

Alpine and Sauber are reportedly interested in the German driver, who still has one seat available at both teams, as well as at RB.

Sergio Perez has signed a new deal to continue as Verstappen's teammate at Red Bull, while McLaren has Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri already on their roster. Aston Martin has a stable line-up with Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.

Ferrari has confirmed Charles Leclerc as Hamilton's teammate, and Carlos Sainz will be joining Williams in 2024 to replace Logan Sargeant, alongside Alex Albon.

The back of the grid is where the most changes are planned, with Haas replacing Kevin Magnussen after losing Nico Hulkenberg to Sauber. Ferrari academy driver Oliver Bearman will join Esteban Ocon in 2025 after Ocon finishes his time at Alpine.

Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda will continue to drive for Alpine and RB, respectively, but the futures of Daniel Ricciardo, Valtteri Bottas, and Zhou Guanyu are uncertain.

The 2025 F1 season will kick off with the Australian Grand Prix on March 19, marking the beginning of a 24-race campaign.
